The 100 block of South Rampart Street is home to many prominent residents. The Chicago Hotel at 204-206 South Rampart Street operated until around 1914. The neighborhood was also home to the Williams and Stevens Stock Company during the early 1900s, who performed at the Temple Theater.

Rampart City is a diverse and rapidly growing community. Its population is nearly 300,000 strong, with an increasing Central American population.
