Wilburn is a town located in Arkansas. It is a part of Cleburne County. The population of Wilburn is approximately 1,500 people. The city has a population density of 1.6 people per square mile. It is located within 72 miles of larger cities and is near airports. However, many residents of the town don't like the large city life and prefer a quieter atmosphere.

The population of the city was spread out, with 38.1% of residents under the age of 18, 13.3% under the age of 18, and 6.3% under the age of 18. Approximately half of the households were made up of married couples, and twenty-two percent were non-families. In Wilburn, the median age was 35. A majority of the population was male, with nineteen males to every one female.

One of the first buildings to be built in Wilburn was a general store owned by Van C. Smith. It was also a post office, and had sleeping quarters for paying guests. Van C. Smith was the son of a prominent Lafayette lawyer, Roswell Smith. He married Annie Ellsworth, a daughter of U.S. Patent Commissioner Henry Levitt Ellsworth. As the first postmaster in Wilburn, Smith was responsible for many of the city's civic projects.
