The city of Buena Park, California, is located in northwest Orange County. It is the county seat and has an estimated population of 80,530. It is located approximately 12 miles northwest of downtown Santa Ana. It is also in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. While Buena Park is relatively small, it is located close to a number of popular tourist destinations.

The city has a diverse population. In 2010, the U.S. Census reported 4,616 residents living in households, 97.1% of which were under the age of 18. There were also 11 non-institutional group quarters, and 126 institutions. However, these numbers are not definitive and should be regarded with caution.

Buena Park was developed during the late 19th century. It abuts the lakefront and soon became a wealthy part of Uptown. The homes here are spacious and beautifully landscaped. Some are built by renowned architects and feature Arts and Crafts or Prairie styles.

Buena Park City has two main streets: Ball Road and La Palma Avenue. These roads run west-east through the city. The area is bordered by the Orange-Riverside Freeway and the Route 241 tollway. Other major streets in the area include Magnolia Avenue, East Street, and State College Boulevard.
