The population of Caliente is approximately 1,077, making it the smallest city in Nevada. The population density is 20 per square mile, with 2.6 people per household. This is well below the national average of 3.0. The median age is 31.6, compared to 37.4 in the US. The city has a diverse population, based on its ethnic composition. The majority of residents identify as white, though there are also some Asian residents and Native Hawaiians.
