The Fort Pierce City Commission held a second workshop on redistricting March 29 and discussed two options to balance population numbers. The workshop helped to clarify the redistricting process for concerned citizens. After the first meeting, City Commissioner Kurt Spitzer explained how the city changes voting districts every decade. In this workshop, Spitzer explained the current process, and how the redistricting process will work.

The city is not overly crowded or too secluded, yet is not too far from major cities. Residents can commute to the other side of the city in less than twenty minutes. Transportation in Fort Pierce City is much faster than the national average, and the city encourages trade to thrive. While the recent economic slowdown has been rough on many areas, the city is slowly emerging. The average house price is $150,000.

For residents, Fort Pierce has great amenities. Fort Pierce's main street is lined with stores and restaurants. It also has several museums, a state-of-the-art theater, and a thriving waterfront. A custom-serviced international airport and deep-water port are also located here. The city is home to several major universities, including Florida's Turnpike and Indian River State College.

The Arcade Building once held the largest commercial building in St. Lucie County. Now it is regenerating as a place for boutiques and small restaurants. The city has also announced plans to develop Moore's Creek site into Kings Landing. The Sunrise Center is another development in Fort Pierce. On February 15, 2022, the city will unveil a 1715 cannon recovered from the Spanish Treasure Fleet.
