Summerland Key is an unincorporated community in Monroe County, Florida, which is located twenty miles east of Key West. This island is crossed by U.S. 1 near mile markers 24 and 25.5. The island is a historic site with the U.S. Coast Survey indicating its location in 1878. This is an island bedroom community midway between Key West and Marathon.
