Coosa City is located in Alabama. Its population is approximately 10,767. The median age is 49.2% for native-born people and 50.8% for foreign-born people. A few of the foreign-born people in Coosa City are from Mexico and Guatemala. The median household size in Coosa City is 2.38.

The city is home to a number of industries, including a cotton-mill named Bradford Factory. The Coosa River runs through the town, along with Hallet and Weoguffka creeks. The county seat is Rockford, and the county's other major cities are Goodwater and Kellyton. The Columbus & Western railroad stops in Goodwater and is slated to extend to Birmingham at some point in the future. In addition, there are several schools in Coosa County.

Coosa City's population has fluctuated over the years. In 2010, it was a more diverse community than it is today. The white non-Hispanic group accounted for 66.1% of the population; in 2021, it will increase to 67.8% from 65.8%. In contrast, the black non-Hispanic group decreased by 2.4 percentage points, to 29.1%.

The Creek Nation is made up of the Alabama, Uchies, and Natchez tribes. Historically, they lived in small villages near the Cahaba River, but their settlements were removed during the Second Indian War. Other Creek villages included Assuanapi, Osoonee, and Tulavahaja on the west bank of the Cahaba River.
