Located on a high-elevation piece of land, the Magic City project promises to develop 2,500 residential units, as well as stores, restaurants, and a public park. The residents of Little Haiti, which sits below the project's planned footprint, make about $39,000 per year, and the vast majority of them are cost-burdened renters. Despite their low-incomes, they are at risk of being displaced to the lower ground if the project proceeds.
