The community consisted of a general store, a schoolhouse and a church owned by Barger. In 1908, the Indianapolis Southern Railroad laid railroad tracks parallel to SR 135 in Bargersville. The railroad stopped in Bargersville in order to build a railroad depot. The railroad also platted 200 lots in the area.
