Connersville, Indiana is one of a handful of small cities in Fayette County, Indiana.

In the Falmouth neighborhood, approximately 44% of residents identify as US citizens. This percentage is significantly lower than the statewide average of 99.5%, and is lower than the national average of 97.6%. The population of Connersville is mostly White, followed by Black and Hispanic people. The area also has a high proportion of Vietnam veterans. There are a number of different religions represented in the area.

The town became a thriving hub for manufacturing after the Second World War. Automobiles manufactured in Connersville include the Auburn, Duesenberg, Ansted, Empire, Lexington, and McFarlan. In the early 20th century, the town was also home to the first automobile assembly line. In addition, in the 1890s, the Connersville Electric Light Company began operations. In 1902, the town's central avenue was paved with brick. The town's Whitewater River Campground is located south of town. The town is home to the annual Heritage MusicFest, which features performances by local bands.

In 1801 the United States Government began selling public land in the Whitewater Valley. In Cincinnati, Ohio, John Conner acquired the title to his plat and began trading with Native Americans. This land would later be known as "Gore." The area became part of Dearborn County and eventually incorporated into modern-day Fayette County. In 1811, the settlement was moved north on the Whitewater River near the junction of the Indian trail.
