According to the United States Census Bureau, the population of Cutler City is 45,425 as of 2020. It is the ninth largest municipality in Miami-Dade County, the 33rd largest city in the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Area, and the 88th most populated city in Florida. After World War II, the area was undeveloped. Modest housing was built. Although most wild rhododendrons were removed, some still grow in the wetlands. The town's population was first recorded in 1890, when the Cutler Bay Steering Committee and the town's leaders met to discuss the formation of a municipal advisory committee.
