Interestingly, Eastborough was founded in the 1920s, but the discovery of oil in the area delayed the city's establishment. Despite this, disputes arose between Eastborough and the neighboring Woodlawn subdivision. Ultimately, the two communities incorporated as a city on June 1, 1937.
