Kuttawa is a home rule class city located in Lyon County, Kentucky. As of the 2010 census, the population was 649, up from 596 in 2000. The town was first called Eddyville, but was moved to Kuttawa when the Tennessee Valley Authority built a dam across the Cumberland River at Grand Rivers, creating Lake Barkley. The city received a post office in 1872.
