His widow, Ella Mae, married Clifford McQuarrie, and their son, James, went on to study at the University of Massachusetts in Boston.

East Hodgdon had a rich history. The community was founded on a farm, and many people came here to find their roots. After World War II, surplus housing units became available at Houlton Airport. East Hodgdon men decided to purchase one of these units and turn it into a community house. This building became a popular venue for going away parties, card parties, and social affairs. The Community House even held wedding receptions, where attendees could celebrate their nuptials with minimal effort.
