The city of Ewell is located in Dale county, Alabama. It is also known as "Ewellville." The population of Ewell is 3,347. Despite its relatively small population, the city still has many notable attractions. The Ewell Plaza is one of those attractions. It was originally intended to be a safe haven for the poor. This is the reason why many residents of the city were shocked when the city closed it for a major construction project.

The city is also home to some notable figures. The Smith Island Cake Company began in Ewell and grew to be well-known. Later, the company moved to Crisfield to better handle shipping and volume. It is now home to the Smith Island Bakery. The bakery still makes cakes, but now sells them frozen, instead. The cakes are reportedly made with a slightly different recipe than what the Smith Island Cake Company used to use. In addition, the Smith Island Bakery also offers some of its famous baked goods.

The town of Ewell is part of Surrey. The city's name originates from an Old English word that means "spring." The village has a large telephone exchange in the centre of town, which was constructed to withstand a nuclear war. In 2000, Ewell was transferred to the jurisdiction of Surrey police. Its population has increased by 7% in the past year, and its borough is home to two large universities.
