Spring Park, Minnesota Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

A quick look at Spring Park City's population and demographics will reveal a number of interesting facts. The median age was 38, with nearly twenty percent of the population being under the age of 18. Similarly, thirty-seven percent of households were headed by married couples, while forty-four were headed by individuals. The city also had a small, but growing, senior population of 22.5%. In addition, there were approximately ninety-one males for every hundred females.

The population of the city is estimated to be 8,299 according to the U.S. Census Bureau. A few years ago, the area had a population of just over a thousand residents. Now, that number is expected to rise to more than eleven thousand in the next two decades. This growth in Park City is expected to spur the growth of Wasatch County, which includes Deer Mountain and Deer Valley, which are home to over thirty-five thousand residential units. Meanwhile, the Kamas Valley is home to Francis, Oakley, and Kamas.

Early Mormon pioneers were drawn to the area as a way to reach Salt Lake City. In 1848, Parley P. Pratt explored the canyon and was granted a charter to build a toll road through the area. The road was completed in 1849, and the area was incorporated into Park City in 1884. After this, the silver mines began to come to the area, which attracted many prospectors. When the town was incorporated in 1884, a spur line connected the station to the First Transcontinental Railroad.
