The city has an overall area of 0.49 square miles (1.27 km2), and is home to 18 housing units. The majority of Strathcona residents are White, with a minority of Asian, Black, and other ethnicities.
The neighbourhood has been a hub for cultural and immigrant activity. Chinese and Asian immigrants have long populated the neighbourhood. In recent years, affluent and middle-class population have moved in. Many family-owned corner stores and art galleries dot the Strathcona landscape.
