Wayzata, Minnesota is a city in Minnesota. Located on the west side of the state, Wayzata is a great place to live. In the 1950s, the city doubled its size as it began to annexe lands from Plymouth, Orono, and Minnetonka. The population grew and a new shopping center was built, replacing many of the older homes downtown. More people moved to the area surrounding the highway, and the number of stores and residences downtown grew dramatically.

The population of Wayzata is about 5,000. Wayzata is a smaller city than other Minnesota cities. This makes the city slightly less affordable than other areas of the state. However, the quality of life in Wayzata is excellent, and the population is very diverse.

When the 1930s began, Wayzata was a small town with few businesses and very few people. As the area became more popular, the population grew, and the need for more schools was noted. It was also a favorite fishing and boating destination. In the 1950s, Wayzata was given a charter city status and considered joining the larger Minneapolis area.

The median age was 44. The median household size was two adults. Twenty-seven percent of the households were headed by children, and twenty-six percent were headed by a married couple. Fifteen percent of households were headed by a single person. Amongst people age 18-64, 17.0% were living alone.
