Chocorua, New Hampshire Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

In a recent survey, we asked the population of Chocorua City to identify their village. Of the 42 people who answered, 22 identified both Chocorua and Tamworth. Of those who did not, only four responded. Future growth will need to accommodate parking needs. We encourage the Board of Selectmen to work with the property owners, future business owners, and residents to address these concerns.

A mix of vehicular use results in traffic that speeds through the village on low traffic days and is jammed with cars during high traffic volumes. We also see no safe pedestrian crossings and unsafe parking areas. Because of these problems, the value of frontage along Route 16 is decreasing. As a result, the city was identified as the number one priority for follow-up transportation projects in 1990 by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
