Deerfield Street, New Jersey Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

The demographics of this Milton neighborhood are changing with the influx of Millennials and Baby Boomers. This generation is expected to drive demand for single-family detached homes, townhouses and multi-family units in the coming years. With nearly half of the population over 45, Baby Boomers are likely to seek downsizing once their children are grown. As a result, the Deerfield and Crabapple areas will attract higher density residential development. In particular, the Deerfield area is a likely site for true multi-family development because of its proximity to GA 400, jobs and shopping.

The activity center in Deerfield features both local and regional development. This is the area with the highest intensity character. It is home to the largest concentration of office buildings in the City, including a high concentration of Verizon Wireless offices. Many local activities occur along Windward Parkway and Highway 9 and include widening of roadways, intersection improvements, and bicycle/pedestrian improvements. In addition, the area boasts some historical significance, including the birthplace of Mark Chmura and Ralph Hosmer.

When choosing a neighborhood, consider the number of homes that have recently sold. A high percentage of sales indicates a rising area. However, if home sales are low, current residents are likely to be looking to move. Moreover, talk to current residents of a neighborhood to get a firsthand impression of the quality of life. The average walk score of a neighborhood will be high if residents regularly walk to work or go to the grocery store.
