Cloudcroft is a small village in southern New Mexico, located in the Lincoln National Forest. According to the 2010 census, the population was 674. The town is surrounded by mountains and is therefore an ideal location for outdoor recreation. The town's elevation makes it a popular destination for tourists in southern New Mexico and west Texas. According to Fodor's, it is the third-most underrated destination in the country, and its economy depends mostly on tourism.
