The city of Elmira Heights, New York is located in southern central New York. It is located near the Pennsylvania state line. It was incorporated on May 1, 1896. In 1910, it had a population of 1,500. A high school opened there in 1910. The city was also home to new churches. In 1894, Oakwood Methodist Episcopal Church was established and Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in 1908.
