Gahanna is a suburban area of Columbus, Ohio, in Franklin County. It was founded by John Clark in 1849. His grandfather, Joseph Clark, had purchased land from Governor Washington in 1814. The town was initially 800 acres, but today it has grown to over 33,000 people. The name Gahanna is derived from a Native American word that means "three creeks joining together."
