Enumerators met at City Hall at 10 a.m. and knocked on hundreds of doors. They eventually counted 5,373 residents. This re-enumeration is not going to change Nelsonville's official population until the 2030 Census.

In Nelsonville, Ohio, the proportion of White residents is 64.8%, followed by 251 Two+ residents and 168 Black or African American residents. The population is two percent hispanic, with 99 hispanic residents. Nelsonville has a median household income of $48,517. This is higher than the state average, but still below the national average.
