The census-certified neighborhood includes approximately 686 people and 374 households. The population density was 349 people per square mile or 887.5 people per square kilometer. The race distribution of the community was 49.3% White, 32.4% African American, 20.0% Native American, 0.30% Asian, and 0.00% of other races. The average household size was 2.2, and the average family size was 3.6.

The UMass Donahue Institute has produced population projections for several towns on the island. In the 2020 census, the island will have more than 20,000 residents. While the island is relatively small, two towns are particularly dense, Tisbury and Oak Bluffs. These two towns account for over a quarter of the county's total population. Although they are largely separate, Oak Bluffs is one of the largest cities on the island.
