The city of Clatskanie is located in the state of Oregon. It is named after the Clatskanie River, which empties into the Columbia River within the city limits. The population was 1,528 at the time of the 2000 census, and the city was estimated at 1,710 in 2007.

The city is located in the foothills of the Coast Mountains, surrounded by the Columbia River. Highway 30 divides the city into two parts.
