The following information is based on census data for the city of Lydia, Louisiana. The population of Lydia is 952 people, compared to 1,079 at the 2000 census. Lydia is part of the New IberiaMicropolitan Statistical Area. While the majority of Lydia's population is white, there are also several Hispanic, African American, and other ethnic groups. The median household income in Lydia is $41,228 and the population is predominantly white.

The CDP population is fairly evenly distributed. Twenty-seven percent of Lydia's households have two cars, the rest have one, or none at all.
