Hermosa is a city in Los Angeles County located 6 miles northwest of the Loop. Its boundaries are largely defined by railroad tracks, and its southernmost point is Bloomingdale Ave. (1880 N.) Hermosa's zip codes are 60641, 60647, and 60658. The city's population is a little over 60,000. Although it's not one of the fastest growing cities in California, it has many things to offer residents.

Hermosa City's population is a diverse community. There are many outdoor activities available, such as jogging and skating along the Strand. The city is home to a diverse mix of residential structures, including multi-level homes with ocean views. There is a police department, fire department, skate park, senior center, and green belt. The median age of residents is 38. There are several neighborhoods and schools in Hermosa, including Hermosa Beach, Hermosa Park, Hermosa Village, and Hermosa Hills.

In the early years, there were no railroads running through Hermosa. However, Burbank and Baker eventually built a platform on the west side of the tracks near Santa Fe Avenue. The railroad company donated an old boxcar to use for freight storage. This helped make Hermosa a hub for the local economy. It was only a few years before the city had its own railway station, which was called Pier Avenue.

Among Hermosa's neighborhoods, East Hermosa provides excellent coastal views. It's elevated above the Pacific Coast Highway and easy to access. As a result, these homes have lower price tags. Aside from the ocean views, East Hermosa offers great value. The city's high schools are located in Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach. They rank in the 80th to 90th percentile.
