In 2016, the population of Hornsby City was 142,667. Men made up 48.8% of the population, while females accounted for 51.2%. Additionally, 0.5% of the population was Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. The population was most ethnically diverse in Hornsby City, with a mix of British, Irish, and South Asian residents.
