Briscoe City, Texas is a city in the Texas panhandle. It was incorporated in 1929 and named for J. B. Briscoe, who was a Panhandle and Santa Fe Railroad official. The town's post office opened in the same year. The population peaked in the 1960s at 270. It dropped to 135 by the 1990 Census.
