Chalk, Texas Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

In 1798, Chalk City was a parish in the county of Kent. It was a small, remote settlement. Its main street was a tollgate for a toll road between Strood and Northfleet. The road closed in 1921 and was replaced by the Gravesend-Rochester road. Its school was subsequently replaced by a village hall. The parish school had been the brainchild of a Victorian vicar.
