What are the Population & Steets in Cresdmoor City? This North Carolina city is home to the Creedmoor College, a state university. Until 1905, Creedmoor was known as Creedmore. The town's first mayor was Joseph L. Peed, whose name lives on Joe Peed Road, which exits the city on the south. Other first commissioners were S.C. Lyon, J.F. Sanderford, and Claude Garner. In 1917, electricity was first turned on in the town by G. H. Dove in a Dove and McDuffy plant on Railroad Street.
