Goree is a small city in the state of Texas. The city has a total area of 1.5 square miles (3.9 square km). It was established in 1905, when the Wichita Valley Railroad announced plans to build through the town. In 1906, it was incorporated into a city. The town received a school from Hefner and renamed it Chigger Hill School.

The city's population was made up of a mixture of men and women. The median age of residents was 36 years old. The population was made up of a mixture of white and black residents. White men accounted for nearly three-quarters of the population. The black population made up the other quarter of the population.
