Readsboro City is located in Bennington County, Vermont. As of the 2010 census, the population was 809 people. This number had decreased from 857 in 1859. The population is composed of primarily White people, with a small Hispanic community. There are fewer than ten Hispanic residents in the city, but they do make up a small portion of the total population.

Readsboro has been a longtime home to immigrants. In recent years, it has become a haven for many refugees. In fact, the city has helped resettle more than two thousand people from over 24 countries. Refugees are primarily from Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, and Somalia. The area is also home to a small population of people from Bhutan and the Ukraine.

In the nineteenth century, Readsboro's economy transitioned from milling to manufacturing. The town began to gain an industrial base with the opening of the Blackstone Canal and the Readsboro and Boston Railroad. As a result, the city became an important transportation hub. The thriving manufacturing industries drew immigrants from many different countries.

Readsboro is home to more than 25,000 people. The city is home to many public and private schools. Public schools include the Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School, which teaches kindergarten through twelveth grade. The town also has 21 private schools, including the Bancroft School and Readsboro Academy.
