Bena, Virginia Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

The population and steets of Bena City are quite impressive. Unlike many African cities, Benin City was planned according to mathematical principles of symmetry, proportionality, and repetition. This is known as fractal design. A book by mathematician Ron Eglash describes how African cities and villages are built according to mathematical patterns. The houses and rooms of Benin City and its surrounding villages were purposely laid out to be perfect fractals. These fractal patterns follow mathematically predictable patterns.

Benin City is the capital and largest city of Edo State in southern Nigeria. In 2016, it was home to about 1.5 million residents. This makes it the fourth largest city in the country and the largest city in the state of Edo. Benin City is located along the main highway from Lagos to the Eastern states. In addition to road connections, Benin City is connected by air and the Niger River delta ports.

When the Portuguese first discovered Benin City, it was made up of several interconnected villages and cities. This was called the "Great City of Benin." When Europeans visited Benin City, they rarely recognized it as a city, but they did classify it as one of the most well planned cities in the world. Its steets were organized in districts based on their location and economic activity.
