The city of Silver Lake is located in southeast New York State at the mouth of the Hudson River. The city is home to an estimated population of 3,963 people, with a growth rate of 4.8% since the year 2020. There are three main industries in the area, and many residents are employed in management. These workers earn an average annual income of $84K, which is about $15,000 more than the average Kansas resident and $73,345 nationwide. The city has a high percentage of residents with Associate's degrees.

The city was first settled in 1866 and quickly became a tent city. Its development was unlike hundreds of other mining boom towns. Sadly, Captain Bullard never lived to see the city become permanent, as he was killed during a confrontation with an Apache tribe. Although the city was named after him, the name remains a testament to his influence. The area is also home to a large, historic mining community.
