The Higdon Cabin, which was built around 1910, is the oldest surviving house in Higdon City. It's a rare example of box-frame construction, also known as vertical-plank construction. It may have been built in two phases prior to the Great Depression, with the second phase taking place shortly after the war. It has a three-quarter-inch-wide tongue-and-groove floor and measures eleven feet, nine inches east to west and twelve feet to the south.
