The town's name suggests luxury living, but the reality is more gritty. The majority of homes in Bella Collina are empty. The town was once home to a thriving Italian-inspired neighborhood. However, the community was hit hard by the GFC in 2007, and Lakeview lots once sold for millions of dollars traded for a Chevy sedan. Residents were left in a financial bind as a result of the shaky housing market.

As one of the most exclusive communities in Orlando, Bella Collina's waterfront lots are only available to members. Prices range from $1 million to $10 million, with most homes being built between 2006 and 2009. Residents can find homes that are as large as 12,000 square feet. Residents can enjoy both water sports and golf memberships, as well as tennis and swimming at the country club. The town is conveniently located between Disney World and the Gulf of Mexico.
