Melbourne Beach, Florida Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

The Town of Melbourne Beach is responsible for providing sanitary sewer facilities and service for the entire community. In addition, the Town will seek to secure an interlocal agreement with Brevard County to set minimum levels of service and allocate plant capacity that will meet projected needs. To date, there are 33 single-family residential units in Melbourne Beach. By 2020, an additional 33 housing units will be added to the community. This will include 18 single-family detached dwellings and 15 multi-family dwellings.

The Town of Melbourne Beach is responsible for enforcing the Florida Residential and Building Code. In addition, the Town will coordinate with the Space Coast Area Transit authority to determine the feasibility of extending transit service in Melbourne Beach. The City of Melbourne Beach must also develop a funding policy to implement the new rules and regulations. The Town is currently seeking a comprehensive plan to guide and direct future development in the community.

The Town of Indialantic occupies the northern portion of the city. The rest of the city is within the town limits, except for one mile to the south. Unincorporated Brevard County has little available land for development in this area. While the Brevard County Comprehensive Plan anticipates growth in south Melbourne Beach, the City's boundaries are bounded by the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean.
