Summerland Key, Florida Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

The City of Summerland Key is located on a small island in the Florida Keys, 20 miles east of Key West. It is an unincorporated community in Monroe County. It is crossed by U.S. 1 between Ramrod Key and Cudjoe Key, and its name comes from the fact that it is the first place where U.S. Coast Survey mapped the island. In 1878, the island was named Summerland, and appears on U.S. Coast Survey chart #169. Today, the city is a bedroom community between Key West and Marathon.

On Monday, the FDOH reported that there were 29 new cases of COVID-19 in Monroe County. These cases increase the case count by 21 and the county's cumulative case count is now 3,483. The newly diagnosed individuals were found in Key West, Marathon, Big Pine, Summerland, and Duck Key. Of the newly confirmed cases, the youngest is only five years old. The county had a one-day positivity rate of 8.66%, making it the ninth highest in the state.
