The city of Shoshone, Idaho, is located in the state of Idaho. Its population is approximately 1,460. It is the county seat of Lincoln County and is the largest city in the county. The town was founded during the construction of the Oregon Short Line. As the main railroad station for this area, it has maintained its prominence over the years. The city is about 26 miles south of Twin Falls, which was never able to establish a strong railroad presence.
