The 2010 census revealed that Armington City had a population of 10,527 people. A quarter of the people in the city were under 18 years old, and one in every five were married couples. Another twenty-four percent of residents were between the ages of 25 and 44. The remaining fifteen percent were 65 years of age and older. The average age of a household member was 40 years. There were more single people living in the city than there were families.
The eastern part of the City features modest homes on smaller lots, and is largely in good condition. Toward the western edge of the City, however, the residential landscape changes significantly. It becomes wider, with more large buildings on shallower lots, and has a less pedestrian-friendly character. As a result, there is more traffic in this area, with less parking available on streets. And while the city's central business district is very active, the majority of residents do not travel far.
