The population of Canmer is nine hundred and seventeen people. Approximately 46.7% of the population is male and 53.3% is female. This figure is slightly higher than the national average of 49.2% to 50.8%, which is roughly how genders are split in the U.S. and Kentucky, respectively. However, this is a small sample size, and there are likely many other variables that influence the ratio.
The indirect count method used responses from local key informants to estimate the number of street children. These key informants were interviewed in each venue during visit 1 of the survey. The interviews asked key informants to report the estimated number, as well as the minimum and maximum number of street children they observed. The mean of their responses was calculated and applied to the other venues in each city. Then the total was estimated for all cities.
