In the U.S., over half of the population identifies as white. The other half identifies as black, including 0.7% of American Indians, 5.4% Asians, 0.2% Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. Hispanics, meanwhile, make up 17.8% of the population. Other races make up 2.6%. Census respondents are asked to list their ancestry, with German being the most common and Welsh being the most concentrated.
The Nike missile bases were constructed at two different locations, a magazine/launch site, and an Integrated Fire Control (IFC) site. The two locations were located in the Town of Hamburg's Recreation Center and Highway Department facilities. Although both sites were abandoned at the end of the Cold War, they remain a historical reminder of the Nike program. Their decommissioning is a testament to the military's dedication to the nation.
