South Dartmouth, Massachusetts Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

The Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council is asking for the public's assistance in locating missing person Anthony "Tony" Medeiros. He has not been seen since about 9 a.m. today and is believed to have gone missing because of recent mental health issues. His phone has not been located. He has brown eyes, a salt-and-pepper goatee, and weighs about 148 pounds.

East Wheelock Street: This street is heavily traveled by bicyclists and connects the Dartmouth campus to housing and the campus athletic complex. It has an attractive streetscape, but has slow traffic. Parking is available on the south side of the street, from College Street to Park Street. There are few bike crashes on East Wheelock, but crashes do occur at the intersection with College Street.

The area surrounding Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center: In March 2009, employees of the medical center conducted an on-site survey. Of the 31 respondents, two-thirds rode bikes to the DHMC. Traffic counts were also collected in November 2010. This data can be used to determine which areas are most accessible by bike or pedestrian.

Bicycles: Bicyclists should be welcomed and encouraged by the Town. The Town should work with Dartmouth College to provide bicycle education to its students, since they make up a significant portion of the town's bicycling population. Bicycle racks at the Richmond School and on the campus of Dartmouth College are just two examples of ways to welcome and encourage bicyclists in the Town.
