Mears is an unincorporated community and census-designated place located in Golden Township, Oceana County. Located on the west side of Michigan's Lower Peninsula, Mears is about three miles west of Hart. It is roughly 23 miles south of Ludington and 39 miles north of Muskegon. The population of Mears is a mixture of ethnic backgrounds, from African American and European to Native American and Asian.
