Atwater is located in Merced County, California. Its topography is of rolling plains and large rivers, making it an agricultural paradise. The city was originally settled by Yokut Indian tribes and Spanish land grants. However, things changed drastically after the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalupe-Hidalupé.
