According to the 2010 Census, the city has 45.1% more single people than the rest of Mississippi. Also, compared to the state of Mississippi, DIberville has 3.2 times more foreign-born people. However, these numbers do not really tell you everything about the city.
The city has a 69% married-couple family population, which is not too different from that of St Martin CDP which has a higher percentage of married-couple households. However, it is worth noting that DIberville does not have the highest percentage of married couples. In fact, the Latimer CDP has a higher percentage of married couples than DIberville - 84%. These two cities have a lot in common.
The southeastern portion of the city is still in the flood zone and has not fully recovered from Hurricane Katrina. The area is a good candidate for development with the Scarlet Pearl Casino opening in 2015. Another casino, the Poarch Creek Indian Casino, is also a possibility. The city has released a Citizens Master Plan in 2006 that outlined redevelopment of the French Market District. This planning document was created with funding from the Coast Transit Authority. It also includes a revamped public transportation system.
The D'Iberville city area has a relatively young population, with 27.5% of the population being under the age of 18. There are also 15.2% of households with a female householder who is not married. The city's median age is 34 years old. The male-to-female ratio is 99.5%, and there are 96 males for every 100 females.
