Luther is a city in Boone County, Iowa. The population was 152 at the 2010 census. The city is part of the Boone, Iowa Micropolitan Statistical Area and the Ames-Boone, Iowa Combined Statistical Area. Luther is located in the northwest corner of Boone County. The town has a large dairy industry and is the largest agricultural hub in the state. The population was diverse enough to be characterized as a typical small town.
