Schooleys Mountain, New Jersey Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

The population of Schooleys Mountain is among the most wealthy neighborhoods in the nation, with residents earning about 1.8% more than the average American. This is reflected in the neighborhood's well-maintained homes, which tend to maintain their value over time. Residents often drive luxury cars, and send their children to private schools rather than the public ones. Whether it is the quality of education or the size of the homes, the community is an ideal place to raise a family.

The Hann family, the oldest and most numerous on the mountain, can trace their lineage back to seven generations. The Hann family is honored by a monument in Pleasant Grove's cemetery. They were emigrants from Germany and early settlers of the town. They settled on Schooleys Mountain about 1730, and Samuel Schooley was one of the first people to purchase land here.

The area is home to the oldest summer resort in the United States. The registers in the town's hotels show distinguished visitors from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. Apres-season celebrations and a picnic in the park are the main events of the city. During the summer, a festival at the PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH draws visitors from all over the county, including the nearby cities of Washington and Philadelphia.

In 1874, the Presbyterian Church was founded at Schooleys Mountain. It was formed by 24 members from several sister congregations. Later, 72 members of the congregation were baptized and worshipped together. For over 50 years, the congregation held religious meetings in the Churcheys Mountain community. The original stone church was constructed in 1825, and the current edifice was built on the same ground.
